During the last two decades of the 20th century, the Haitian people has endured one of the most troubled periods of its history. And yet the new millennium did not start with less difficulties, tragedies and preoccupations for Haiti.
When pessimism and fatalism have gained countlessly so many minds in our community, the Haitian American Group for Human Development Inc. humbly dares inviting the whole Community of Haitian Brothers and Sisters to keep nurturing hope and faith and not giving in to adversity, deprivations and frustrations.
Founded and registered as a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization in the States of Massachusetts within the period 2005-2007, our Group intends to give more time, be more knowledgeable and open-minded to better apprehend the ecosystems of the environning world while reflecting and acting on the multitude of problems affecting our society and our country.
As many others, HAGRO comes from a small group of Haitian Americans, professionals and immigrants, most of them living just above the level of poverty but willingly and consciously tied to their obligations toward their alma mater. Technically capable and ethically reliable, We will design and plan, search and propose, disseminate and solicit, hoping that Donors,Philanthropists and the Civil Society in general will grant us their support which is essential for the realization of the projects we generate for the common good.
" Collective solidarity is a basis for dealing with the world's increasing degree of financial, social and environmental interdependence and vulnerability"...
" Universal respect is not only for civil and political rights, but also for economic, social and cultural rights"...
Millenium Declaration- General Assembly of United Nations, September 2000.
